Hey. I remember this curse. With the- mistletoe. Huh. Maybe I'll go get something from the store . . .

[Demyx is walking around, in the background with his hood up, purposely out on this day, when so many decide to stay inside. He wants to watch, observe peoples' reactions to this, and note the differences. What will the curse show him this time around?]

[OoC: So, true to the narrative, he'll be skulking around today, but if you'd care to bump into him- well, no holds barred, let's say. 8) Even if you don't know him, all the better. He's met two people 'cause of this curse, in fact! ~~Look, the right date, too.~~]

In the scheme of things, there's far worse then merely taking notes on their habits. Strange and unusual, yes, but not actually harmful. As for the mistletoe, he's not paying the least amount of attention to it. Why should he when it's 'just' a plant?

"Business as normal, for one of the curses, I'd assume."

He put the card back in his pocket, at least for now. "Yeah, I guess." It was true, and yet . . . it wasn't. "But I dunno. I think there's something different about this one. People get different, even though I'm pretty sure that they're not mentally affected."

Wait, that wasn't right. It was more like- "Well, it's not like they'd kiss each other normally, but aside from the actual kiss, they're not really affected. I wasn't, anyway."

"Perhaps the City's exerting its influence only in encouraging the kiss?"

It would be a far lighter touch than most of the curses, but it was certainly within the realm of possibility.

"Huh, yeah. That'd make sense. I only ever really felt the influence when someone else kissed me, first. Usually not the other way around." That did explain a lot, he'd have to remember to write that down. And that mistletoe was getting ever closer.

Getting closer and Tseng is still steadfastly ignoring the urge. He's fairly sure he won't last forever, but he's willing to try all the same.

"It's odd to think we could find logic in this madness."

Demyx was never as outwardly affected as some others. He'd only become affected once he'd been kissed, and he'd only initiated the kiss once, with Megumi. And she'd kissed him once first, anyway. The only way he could even start to tell he was affected was that he'd often get closer to the person, but he never noticed that, as he didn't see anything wrong with that, due to his lack of personal space in the first place.

"You think so? I dunno, I've heard people say it was sort of organized, like, with who kissed who." More consideration. "I mean, I don't think I agree with that, I think they're probably just around each other. I don't think it's part of some great deity scheme or whatever."

"Given the current situation, I'd be inclined to believe it wasn't organized. After all, if we only kissed whom we wanted to there'd surely be fewer occurrences. Besides, have you noticed?"

Noticed the plant growing overhead, that was.

"I think it was more like who the deities wanted to see kiss. But I don't believe that, either." He tilts his head to one side. "Noticed? Noticed what?"

Tseng doesn't answer that directly, merely offers a wry smile and points to the profusion of mistletoe hanging above them. The mistletoe whose influence he still quite determinedly not doing anything about.

He looks the direction Tseng is pointing. "Oh." Did he feel any pull towards Tseng now? There was definitely something there, but it wasn't too strong at all. But he was acting pretty calm about it. Maybe he also didn't feel what people said; the pull. "No, I didn't notice."

"I would imagine it's trying to suggest something."

A kiss meant nothing to Tseng. It could be a lie as easily as it could be a truth and the nature of his job forced him to face that manner of truth on a regular basis.

He frowned in thought. Or rather, he pouted in thought. "I dunno, I think it's just there. I mean, it's affecting me a little, but I dunno about suggesting. You feel anything?" Demyx didn't think of it quite in terms of that. It just sort of was, and no big deal about it. Especially since it was caused by a curse, and didn't do any damage, at least, none that he saw.

"It's nothing I can't ignore," Tseng answered with a shrug. It might have done no damage, but propriety must be served.

He nodded. "Yeah. Have you ever been affected by this curse before?" He hadn't been factoring that into what he saw, but he also didn't alert too many people to his presence.

Tseng shook his had at that. He hadn't been out all that long.

"No, I haven't. Is it just a one day curse?"

A nod. "Last year it was just one day, yeah. I think a few people are actually staying in all day."

"Perhaps they find it inconvenient?" There's a faint hint of a smile at the comment.

Yeah, whatever that smile was for, it's way over his head now. "It just takes about five seconds, it's not like it'd interrupt your day more than staying in would." On the other hand, while being completely dumb, he makes a fairly smart point, a rare occurrence for him.

"People rarely act rationally, in the face of embarrassment."

Even if it's merely perceived embarrassment.

"Huh, yeah, I guess that's true." He'd have to remember that for later. "How about you?"

Tseng simply shrugs at the question. He's long since mastered his emotions as much as is humanly possible.

"I'm a Turk."

He's vaguely heard that before, but didn't really know what it meant. "Reno's mentioned that before; what does that mean?"

"It's the unofficial name for our department, since the longer name is... unwieldy, at best." Not that this is really a surprise since ShinRa has a tendency to do that, but still. 'Turks' is easier.

"Oh, okay. I guess that makes sense." He's been dealing with 'Organization XIII', so he doesn't really know about unwieldy department names, but he can understand that, at least.

"The Investigation Sector of the General Affair Department. You can see why we've decided to use something shorter for the day-to-day affairs."

That and if everyone knows them as the Turks, they have an 'out' of sorts, when people are expecting Turks but don't know the faces behind the name that speaks of little more than people who take care of the dirty work.
