Guess he left. At least the ticking's not here anymore, though, and I was used to doing most of the chores anyway. So I guess it's not that bad.

What're you sorry for? Lots of people have done that. I don't- phrase it right or something.

Yeah. I mean, I haven't had a family for years, I don't even know if they're still alive. I'm a different person than I was then, anyway. It's kind of like I never had one to begin with, almost. And then the only interaction I've really had, before the City, was the Organization where they kept talking about how none of us have emotions. Going from all that to that curse was- I mean, it's different than usual. Friends, yeah. But family's really different.

Yeah. I know what you mean. Back home, I haven't talked to my parents properly in years. It was weird, we were all just so close. And happy. I never had that growing up, you know?

Nothing really, they're just jerks about a lot of things.

My mother was alright. My father was away a lot. He got me my sitar, though.

That's cool. You gotta be thankful for that, then.

Well, yeah, I guess. But like I said, they weren't really mine. They were [Insert some combination of letters of d-y-m-and-e because Nomura hasn't told us]'s.

No. That was my name before I got turned into a Nobody. They mix it up and put an x in it when you join the Organization.

It's a way of identifying your new not-quite-life. [A pause, as he goes back to being serious again.] The funny thing is, even during the curse I didn't really have parents. I mean, I did, but I don't remember who they were supposed to be.

Sometimes I think the City can only invent so much. When you look back at those type of weekends, there were always huge gaps in your memory. You just don't notice them at the time.

Well. Yeah. [He grins a little.] But I meant that during that weekend I hadn't been a part of the Organization. But after it was over, I couldn't really remember a lot of details. Like if I was still a Nobody or not.

Yeah, me neither. I mean, not about that, but... I didn't remember many detail when it was over.

So, you didn't have any problems with the other people from the family curse after it was over?

It was a bit weird. I don't think I've really spoken to Cas since. But Rose and I got along really well. Until she, you know, left.
